I sat down at my makeshift recording studio to record a new instrumental. I planned to originally do this with my acoustic guitar but the string broke before I could start so i had to use my MIDI keyboard. I plugged it in to my guitar amplifier and surprisingly it worked.
First I came up with the main melody which took a painstaking half hour to come up with. Once the drums were set, I recorded the melody on my keyboard. I then wanted to add a bass guitar but I didn't have one so I changed the setting on my keyboard to sound like a bass.
I listened to the song once and I liked it but it sounded a bit empty. Earlier I had listened to the song "Yesterday" and I noticed a string quartet in the background, So I changed the settings on my keyboard once again to string quartet and my own string background. What was supposed to be a short instrumental became a 3 minute song, now I just need someone to sing.
