I walked through the garage door into the house. We just got back from Taco Bell, and I was full. I didn't really want to do anything other than just sit around, so walked up to my bedroom. My plan was to just grab my notebook and just draw, but when I went to go get it, I saw a box. I lifted it up, and turned it around. It was a rocket. I had a little flashback looking at it. My Uncle Tony gave it to me a couple years ago for Christmas. I never used it before though. We just forgot about it. My thought of relaxing had vanished, and I focused on building the rocket instead.
The directions were really simple. Most of the pieces were already together, so I just had to put the big pieces together. I attached the rocket to the launch pad. It gave me some stickers to decorate it, so I spend some time making the rocket look "pretty". After I got that done, I read the directions one more time. I saw that it launched with baking soda and vinegar. I figured it was easy enough, and I could do it. I walked outside into the street to launch it. I filled the hollow rocket with vinegar, and a little tube with baking soda. I double checked I had all the materials. I attacked the tube to the launch pad, and the rocket on top. I shook it. A foamy explosion came out of the rocket. It went up an inch. Then two. I got exited to see the rocket fly. It went up one more inch and... It dropped onto the ground. All the baking soda and vinegar was all used up. Now, the tangy, salty stench of vinegar was in the air. I sighed. I must have done some thing wrong, but I couldn't figure it out. Maybe I measured wrong? Maybe I built it wrong? Whatever it was, it was too late now. I picked up the mess, and threw it into the trash bin as I made my way inside. As I walked into the house, I smiled. I had a idea in my head. A crazy one, and it involved a lot of baking soda, and a lot of vinegar.
