I was sitting on the couch, reading my book. Charlee was on my lap, sound asleep. I was flipping through my book silently, petting her gently as she breathed softly.... until she heard the mail man. She shot up, completely out of her deep sleep trance. She launched herself at the window, almost falling behind the couch.
"Charlee!" I said, picking her up. She was wiggling, and squirming, trying her best to get out of my grasp. Then the mailman rang the doorbell. Right then, she burst out with uncontrollable craziness, barking as if there was no tomorrow. She eventually broke out of my arms, and leaped off my lap.
She ran to the couch to get a better view, then....
THUMP!!!
I looked, and saw that she face planted into the couch. I guess she was so excited, she forgot to jump. She shook it off as if nothing happened. She started barking again, and again, and again.... well, you get the point.
And now, it was time for running-in-circles-crazy-time. She barked, ran in circles as fast as she could around the couch. Bark, circles, bark, circles, bark, circles. I was laughing by now, because she was still going nuts, but the mail man was long gone, but she didn't care. This all went on for about five minutes..
When she finally calmed down, she was panting so hard, she was literally shaking. She looked around, sneezed twice, and plopped onto the floor. she was asleep in a matter of seconds. I shook my head.
"Crazy dog." I whispered, as I sat back on the couch, going back to my book.
