Every summer my family and I drive around 7 hours to Upper Peninsula, Michigan. If you don't know what section of Michigan is, it's the top section. Anyway, up there is forest and a couple different resorts. Our resort we stay at is called Vacation Land Resort. It has a playground, hiking trails, a beach, a swim platform, and piers by the cabins. When we arrive, my dad hooks up the boat to our pier and Katie my mom and me go say hi to my Grandma and Grandpa inside the cabin. That first day we hung out at the beach. My dad leaped in the lake and swan to the swim platform. He called me over. I peered into the lake. I couldn't see the bottom it was so deep! I hesitated then dove in. The water was freezing! My ankle caught onto some seaweed. "AAAHHHHH!!!! I THINK A FISH IS BY ME AHHHHHHH!!!!!!" I scream."It's just seaweed!" My mom shouts. My dad hops back in the water to untangle me. I follow him to the swim platform. We stay there for a while just laying in the sun. "Do you want me to push you into the water!?" My dad says. "Um, no thanks!" I reply. He pretends to chase me and I end up running off the platform. He dives in after, soaking me with water! I laugh and see Grandpa's boat cruise by. Actually it was going pretty fast! "Must be home from fishing" Mom says, looking up from her book. We head to the cabin and eat hot dogs and burgers for dinner, eat candy, watch movies, and head to bed.
Monday night at volleyball practice my team and I played scrimmage. For at least the first ten minutes of the game, nobody even touched the ball. Then I realized that someone's gotta hit that ball. The game had no action at all! So when the ball came flying to my side of the court, I leaped in front of one of my teammates, and smacked that ball to the top of the net. Well, it started to fall down on my side again and I zoomed over and quickly set it over the net. One of the taller kids on the other side set it back over and I bumped it back over. I was so glad I took that ball from my teammate.
The other night, I went to an outing with my Girl Scout troop and went to Enchanted Castle. When we all first walk in we head straight to the restaurant to eat some food. We all ate tons of pizza, which tasted AMAZING. Then we headed out to the arcade area. After I played a few games Kiera ran up to me and takes me to this purple ride that spins and the cart you're in spins really fast as well! I backed away and said "Kiera, it looks fun and all, but I just don't do crazy rides..." She encourages me and I finally hop into a cart with her. The operator lady comes and straps us in, and I just stare at Julia, Caitlin, Katie and Julia's sister Sofia as the ride slowly starts. Then it sped up. ALOT. It was actually pretty fun, and not as fast as it looks. The ride comes to a stop and the operator says to stay seated. I look around and notice she's fiddling around with the buttons on her little thing that starts and ends the ride. The ride starts up slowly again but its going backwards! After the ride we all play some games in the arcade. Then, its time for some laser tag. I love laser tag! After a 30 minute laser tag session, we head to the arcade again. Kiera and I look at one of the games. It's blocked off with small black curtains so we can't peek inside. Then, we hear teenage girls inside playing the game screaming. We look at the labels all over the game. 'DO NOT PLAY IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH OR FLASHING SCREENS OR HEART PROBLEMS, THIS GAME MAY BE DANGEROUS IF SO.' We stare at each other, a bit curious. Then read on. It said it had vibrating seats, and air, like someone is breathing on you, and a panic sensor. "What is a panic sensor?" I ask, eyes wide. "I don't now but it sounds scary, let's do this game!" We get in, and put on 3D glasses over our glasses. Then we press start and put in some tokens. I just couldn't stay in there. It was too scary. I was just in shock. I can't even remember how scary it was it was so scary. I burst out of the curtains screaming. Then I get into Julia's car with her as we drive away, watching Tom + Jerry. It was the best night ever!
Julia, Caitlin, and I all went over to Party City one day just to search for good Halloween costumes and we were there for about two whole hours! Julia's little sister and my little sister picked out matching costumes in like, the first ten minutes. They are gonna be rainbow witches. Then with lots of trying on costumes of Police Officers and Sock-Hop poodle skirt dresses, Caitlin Julia and I figured out the perfect costume idea. Alice in Wonderland! Julia chose an Alice costume, I ran up to a Queen of Hearts one, and Caitlin ran up to one that is the Cheshire Cat. We all look great in them! After a lot of good-byes, we all drove home. The sound of a speeding car zaps me out of my little daydream I was having of how we're all gonna look on Halloween. It's Caitlin and her mom! My mom speeds up, and me and Caitlin practically hang out the windows while our moms have a playful little car race. Me and Caitlin laugh so hard! It was one of the most fun days ever!
My dog, Remi loves to stare out the big window in our living room. She sits on the arm of the couch, and just stares out the window. It looks like a pretty boring hobby to me. But just this weekend, when my dad moved the couch a away from the window, Remi just kept trying and trying to even sneak a little peek out the window. But the dog across the street does the same thing Remi used to do. I think Remi's a little jealous.... Anyway, couch by the window or no couch by the window, Remi can always look out my window!
